I am currently posted in the Mola Lab at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our lab conducts a variety of work mostly centered on pollinator and pollination ecology and conservation and my projects have focused largely on insect and bumble bee (Bombus sp.) life history and movement ecology.
In summer 2024 we piloted methods with radio tagging bumble bees. More to come on this soon, so stay tuned!
In the summers of 2023 and 2024 I used soil insect emergence traps to collect insects as they emerged from overwintering. This project was focused on exploring the role between different microsite characteristics and their effects on how many and what types of insects overwintered at those sites.
I've been lucky to work with some amazing undergraduate students throughout my graduate student career, so I just wanted to shout out those folks! My research would not be possible without these guys:
Mickey Paletta, Quincy Noel, Abby Sand, Brandon Weigand, Allie McQuinston, Megan Fenner, and Zella Benson.
